Every year, the Hillsboro Chamber partners with Terri Miller in awarding an individual with a scholarship, in honor of Terri's son, Danial. Danial graduated in 2012 and passed away soon after graduation due to complications from his medical condition.
Danial's scholarship recipient is chosen by the HHS faculty. The scholarship is given to a student who exemplifies determination, positive attitude, caring and concern for others, and has overcome adversity. Danial's scholarship is about celebrating those in our community who have persevered and are a positive force in our community.
Terri was the 2007 Chamber Member of the Year. She was on the board of director's for over 10 years and served two terms as Chamber President. Danial enjoyed coming along to Chamber meetings and enjoyed helping out at events.
Danial was born with spina bifida and hydrocephalus and used a wheelchair to get around. This did not keep him from doing what he enjoyed, however. Danial was a member of the wrestling team and also a member of the National Champion Jr. Blues Sled Hockey team.
