Terri Miller was a long term member of the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce. She was on the board of directors for over 10 years and served two terms as president. In 2012, Terri's son Danial passed away due to complications from his medical condition. Danial was born with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus. His condition required he use a wheelchair for his primary mode of mobility. Danial was a 2012 graduate of Hillsboro High School. He was a member of the HHS wrestling team and National Champion Jr. Blues Sled Hockey team. Danial was well loved by those who knew him. He was a very generous spirit and there was nothing he wouldn't do for someone in need. His positive attitude and determination inspired many in our community.

Danial attended many Chamber meetings throughout his life and enjoyed volunteering at events. In honor of Danial, the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce set up a scholarship fund that the community could donate to in his name. The Danial Miller scholarship is awarded to a student who exemplifies determination despite barriers, a ever-present positive attitude, and a caring and considerate character.

Danial's scholarship is about celebrating youth who have persevered and are a positive force in our community.

$5 of all dues are put towards the Danial Miller Scholarship fund, and scholarships are awarded in May.
