The Hillsboro School District provides outstanding education for children in Hillsboro and the surrounding communities in grades K-12. Hillsboro also has a Pre-K Program with activities throughout the year for families with children in the Early Childhood Program. Hillsboro also offers a branch of Lincoln Land Community College for secondary education.

The Hillsboro community is proud of its classic movie cinema, The Orpheum Theater. The Orpheum provides two cinemas, with updated luxurious seating including sofa seating, and everyone gets popcorn and soda included in their ticket price!
