The Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce is a member driven organization that strives to coordinate the talents of local business and community leaders. Members are encouraged to volunteer for one of the following committees. These committees make it possible for the Chamber to fulfill its responsibilities to its members and the community.
Membership All Chamber members are on the membership committee, but a core group of members interested in the Chamber's reach are needed. The membership committee focuses on:
o Recruiting & retaining members
o Welcoming new businesses
o Ribbon cuttings and grand openings for new or expanding businesses
o Member development including leadership training opportunities
Finance The finance committee assists the Treasurer and Executive Director building the annual budget and monitoring the Chamber's financial decisions. The finance committee focuses on the:
o Annual budget
o Awarding scholarship
o Fundraising
Programs The programs committee is responsible for coordinating and hosting Chamber events and activities. The programs committee focuses on:
o Chamber Week activities
o Business and Industry Banquet
o Holiday Events
o Monthly Meeting speakers
Economic Development The economic development committee represents the Chamber in economic development issues, including business retention and attraction. The economic development committee focuses on:
o Business and Industry Awards
o Community Service Organization Liason
o MCEDC Liason
Agribusiness The agribusiness committee represents the Chamber to the agricultural community. The agribusiness committee focuses on:
o Awarding agribusiness scholarships and funds
o Agriculture appreciation events
Tourism The tourism committee is responsible for supporting events in Hillsboro and
Montgomery County that encourage tourism. The tourism committee focuses on:
o Supporting established community events
o Creating tourism opportunities
o Marketing the Hillsboro trade area to attract tourists
Communication The communication committee is responsible for Chamber outreach and education. The communication committee focuses on:
o Advocating to elected and appointed officials
o Networking events
o Community Education
o Regional Cooperation
